For my senior thesis project, I decided to make an animated short film. With a generalist background, I felt making a film would be a good way to showcase multiple skills at once. This task was daunting as I had very limited experience in animation prior to this film, let alone making a complete 8 minute package.
I did every step of the process myself (barring voice acting) including writing the script, designing the characters (below), storyboarding and making an animatic, directing the voice cast, animating the film, and even scoring original music for the film—all put together within a semester.
